Fred G. Mills

Founder / Managing Member

Fred attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and graduated from Wake Forest University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1966. He is also a licensed Real Estate Broker in North Carolina. Fred has specialized in affordable housing for almost twenty years. As the Managing General Partner of United Equities, he has been responsible for the development of thousands of multifamily units. Fred is also the Managing Member of United Property Management, LLC, which currently manages rental communities across the state of North Carolina. Fred provides leadership to a number of area nonprofit and educational organizations.

Fred G. Mills, Jr.

Fred joined Mills Construction Company Incorporated in 1993 as Assistant Project Superintendent, after attending Wittenburg University.  He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1995.  In March 2001, Fred G. Mills Jr. formed Mills Construction Company of S.C., Inc. to act as a successor corporation, with a focus on Multi-Family Construction Management. He was elected President and continues to serve as President and COO of the construction company. Since that time Fred has lead the company to build a variety of multi-family units including university housing, teacher housing, and tax credit housing. 


Paul K. Craig, Jr.

Paul holds a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering Technology and is the qualifier for our Public Utility License.  He joined the Mills Team in 2003 with over 10 years of experience in site work.  Paul’s construction experiences include commercial and private site work development with single project values up to $20,000,000.

Joe Warenda

Joe graduated from University of North Carolina at Pembroke, NC with a B.S. Business Administration with a concentration in management and marketing.  He joined the company in April of 2006 and now manages job financials and construction data on a day-to-day basis.  Joe works with each Construction Manger during the building process to make sure work stays on time and under budget.

Controller and Information Technology Specialist

Corey Maner

Corey joined the Mills Construction Team in 2008.  He graduated from University of Southern Mississippi in 2001 with a B.S. in Construction Engineering Technologies.  Corey has overseen the building process for over 1400 multi-family units throughout Florida, Tennessee, and Texas.   Corey is in charge of estimating, budgeting and overseeing construction from beginning to end.

Harvey Ellis

Harvey came to work with Mills Construction in 2007.  He has over 23 years of apartment building construction experience. Harvey’s has supervised the building process of six hotels and over 2,000 multi-family units throughout the Southeast.
